Republicans attack, Democrats defend DEI programs
A week after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected the use of race for college admission, 13 Republican state attorneys general (AGs) sent a letterto the CEOs of the Fortune 100, warning them not to use race-based initiatives in hiring, promotion, or contracting. In response to the Republicans threats, a group of nearly two dozen Democratic state AGs sent a letter on July 19 to the same Fortune 100 CEOs encouraging them to continue their efforts to increase workforce diversity following the Supreme Court’s affirmative action decision.
