OFCCP Director Yang keynote opens NILG
Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) Director Jenny Yang’s keynote address opened the 2022 National Industry Liaison Group (NILG) Conference in Boston. While Director Yang did not provide a rollout of any new initiatives, she did outline what federal contractors can expect from the agency for the rest of 2022 and moving into 2023.
The highlights included the following:
- The OFCCP is adding 100 new employees by September.
- A major focus for the agency is construction contractors as the new infrastructure projects begin to be awarded.
- The agency held recent listening sessions as it prepares to substantially revise its regulations.
- On privileged pay audits, contractors are not required to provide the OFCCP with their audits, but they need to provide the agency some type of documentation that they have conducted the required assessment of their compensation systems.
- Job segregation by race/ethnicity/gender has not changed substantially since 1970 and will continue to be a focus in agency audits.
- The next OFCCP-EEOC HIRE Initiative roundtable will be on artificial intelligence (AI).
