CMS lifts COVID-19 staff vaccination requirements

Effective August 4, 2023, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will no longer require COVID-19 vaccination for staff of most healthcare entities. On June 5, CMS published a final rule entitled “Policy and Regulatory Changes to the Omnibus COVID-19 Health Care Staff Vaccination Requirements” that withdraws its COVID-19 staff vaccination requirements published on November 5, 2021.
